1. Wanted: KNBC Newsletter Editor

Unfortunately Chris Richardson, the club’s Newsletter Editor, has resigned due to other obligations. So we are looking for someone to step up and help out.  The description of the Newsletter editor’s responsibilities is located on the ‘members only’ portion of the KNBC website. Please contact Geoffrey if interested and to find out more. president@knbc.ca

2. Thursday Jan 11, at 7 pm. 613 Casual Choir (CC) at the Wellington Eatery, in Ottawa's Hintonburg neighbourhood, 1008 Wellington St W, Ottawa, $10 cover

Do you just want to sing out loud? Come and join some KNBC’rs who will be heading to the 613CC 2018 kicking off. The 613CC is a drop-in super-relaxed sing-a-long choir.  Come have a glass of wine and some munchies.  Lyric sheets are handed out, so all you have to do is show up. KNBC’rs who have attended in the past have really enjoyed it.  This week’s songs are The Chainsmokers “Closer”, and the Pointer Sisters “Jump (for my love)”.  The choir is led by Lee Hayes, with musical accompaniment by Rob Cosh. For more information you can visit the 613CC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/613casualchoir/

If you would like to attend, please e-mail info@613casualchoir.ca so they will know how many sheets to print off, and social@knbc.ca so we can keep an eye out for you.

3. Saturday Feb, 17, 2018 KNBC Winter Social 6 pm start

Amberwood Lounge & Eatery or just ALE for short, 54 Springbrook Dr. Stittsville

You are invited to come out to our annual KNBC Winter Social. This year we have booked a new venue and will be holding the celebration at Amberwood Lounge & Eatery in Stittsville. The cost, including tax & tip, is $41.60 and includes a starter salad, choice of 2 entries, dessert, tea and coffee (see full menu details and options listed below). The event will start at 6:00 pm. Payments are to be made individually directly to ALE on the night of the event.

With our bikes tucked away for the winter, let’s put our party duds on and get together again to celebrate cycling with good friends. In addition to enjoying a gourmet meal together, we will have a bike shorts video “Celebrating KNBC’rs” for entertainment and some skill testing activities with a free KNBC 2018 club membership to the winner.

Please RSVP to Janet Clark at social@knbc.ca and indicate entree selection (Beef Tenderloin or Salmon) and/or any special dietary requirements. Menus to accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, will also be available upon request.

This is what one of our KNBC members, Nancy Hough, is saying about the venue for our social “ALE, Amberwood Lounge and Eatery, is one of my favourite eateries.  We have always enjoyed the food – the décor is pleasant and the staff attentive.”

Hope to see you there and we encourage all members, including newer members to come out and enjoy this event.

Please Note:  No changes/cancellations are permitted after Feb 10, 2018 when we will place our order, so you will still be responsible for payment to the club for your meal if you have to cancel at the last minute.
